Religious Diversity Training
Besides research and teaching, the Center for Religious Studies (CERES) is actively engaged in different forms of knowledge transfer, designed for different non-academic target groups such as public institutions or civil society actors.
KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER ON RELIGIOUS DIVERSITY
For the last decade, CERES researchers have collected data of local religious diversity and pluralisation processes both in quantitative as well as qualitative terms. In order to communicate these data to a large audience outside the academia, public talks and interviews have been given, publications have been released, and exhibitions have been organised.
TRAININGS FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR
As a new field of knowledge transfer, CERES offers employees of the public sector special trainings on different topics surrounding religious diversity in North-Rhine Westphalia, the most populous German state. Due to different processes such as migration and individualisation, the religious landscape in this state has become increasingly diverse. Given this situation, German administration, schools as well as welfare organisations and hospitals have a strong need to understand the religious plurality that affect their daily work. CERES researchers prepare the collected data on local and regional religous pluralitys and diversity for their usage within the different fields of the public sector.
